Motley Crue take a lot of inspiration from The New York Dolls and The Sweet. And WASP are very similiar to them.

I've been into them for a while actually.

True, but they were one of the first bands to do the big hair thing and hugely influenced the Glam Metal scene.

But for the 70's, that's pretty damn heavy.

They're not Glam Metal, they're Heavy Metal.
Van Halin were the first Glam Metal band.

However, I was wrong, they formed in 1981, but they're definetly not Glam.

Yes, Eddie Van Halen is amazing. But Van Halen are crap.

I bought one of their albums and it had two decent tracks on it. One of them was a guitar instumental and the other was a cover of The Kinks "You really got me".
Their songwriting is terrible, and you rarely hear any of Eddie's fantastic solo work.
